After about twenty minutes the ship personnel made their way to a bar and casino of sorts. Bortuga the Hutt seemed to be the proprietor, as the name “Bortuga’s Pleasure Palace” so implied. After stepping in the main entry your eyes are bombarded by the huge bar area accented by the light violet floor tiles. Although not open for another three standard hours, the club still appeared dimly lit.
The Twi’lek walked around the bar and into a back card den area, through a sliding door. Here, at the far table, stood a huge Hutt playing a game of pazzak with a Rodian, Twi’lek and a Zabrak. At one of the other two tables sat a Gamorrean, Kel Dor, and a Klatooinian, while the other table had a Zygerrian, two Trandoshans and a Weequay. Just as the sliding door fashioned itself a Pau'an introduced itself to the crewmen, as the others placed their cards face down.
“Welcome crew-members of the Golden Glory to Bortuga’s Pleasure Palace. I’m sure that you have what my master has requested. Please… make yourself at home. And we shall finalize the deal.”
With that the Twi’lek guide stepped to the side and motioned for the crew to enter into the room.
Captain Soggar, Grodo and Gortagg entered and made their way toward Bortuga.
[Along the way, Leth could not see anyone else that might be in cahoots with the Twi’lek.]

After the invite, the others at Bortuga’s table got up and made their way behind their benefactor. Captain Soggar and Grodo then sat in the two available seats, while Gortagg stood between the two.

Udileu, the Pau'an the crew had met when they came through the door, was fashioned in a stereotypical Pau'an outfit. Anyone who knew about the Pau'an, knew about their business reputation and that for leadership. But it could be understood that Bortuga was the general and mastermind and Udileu was the fieldmarshal.
He kept a curious eye on the crew members as they walked over to meet with Bortuga. He thought to himself what kind of people were able to get their hands on such an artifact. He also wondered how things were going to play out. Bortuga had a bad feeling about this transaction (OOC: someone in the Star Wars universe always has to), so Udileu was keeping his eyes and ears open for what may happen.
And in that vein, due to the connection with the Force the object in question had, he closed his eyes and reached out with the Force to see if any of them were users of the Force or if any users of the Force were in the area. [OOC: Sense Force: 1d20+9 → [10,9] = (19) vs. DC 15 (http://invisiblecastle.com/roller/view/2346951/). Remember that the other characters can try to hide their presence.]
He then walked over to stand next to his "master" and translate for him during the negotiations. On his way over, he picked up a drink at the bar to give to Bortuga. Bortuga preferred a drink during business as it added to a feeling of a relaxed environment. Udileu sometimes wondered why he was working for a Hutt, but then he reminded himself of the situation in the galaxy and that he'd rather keep company with a Hutt and try to influence the Hutt's ways than to be at the mercy of the Sith.

[Reaching out Udileu could feel several others just outside the building. Although they weren’t Force users, strong emotions of fear and doubt filled them.]
Udileu Voluff made his way beside Bortuga the Hutt, his master, and handed him his drink of choice. Bortuga, now in a more comfortable mood, motioned toward the crewmen as they produced the carrying case and propped it on top of the table. They then opened up the case and showed it to Bortuga, who laughed emphatically.
<“Ho! Ho! Ho! It is it. The illustrious holocron of Darth Eruditus!”> (Spoken in Huttese.)
He then looked at Udileu.
<“It is indeed it! Is it not? How much did we offer to pay? Seven Hundred Million credits? Hmmmmmmmmmmm… well… it is indeed worth the price, pending its functionality. Voluff!”> (Spoken in Huttese.)
Bortuga motioned for Udileu to test out the product.

Though he hated doing giving his master unwarranted praise by bowing before him and giving him a title, he always bit his lip and did it anyway. He could always be asked to do worse.
He looked to Bortuga, did a bow of acknowledgment, and then said, "Mighty Bortuga, we shall see if it is or is not."
He then looked to the crew and continued, "The Exalted Bortuga would like me to inspect the holocron to determine its functionality and also its worthiness of the enormous sum of credits he offered."
He then holds out his hand in anticipation.

Leth moved up closer to the captain, as he watched the hutt eye the box. As the Pau'an asked to inspect the item Leth absently placed his hand on his blaster. Whispering to Theel, "I don't like Hutt's"
Poised Leth waited for Captain's responce

Captain Soggar shook his head allowing the Pau'an to access the holocron. He picked it up, turned it on and waited. A second later an old Sith Lord appeared before those present speaking in an unknown tongue [unless someone can speak Sith, or has a translator unit]. Bortuga nodded and Voluff turned the machine off and placed it back on the table, before returning to his original position.
<“Ho! Ho! Ho! And so it is the holocron of Darth Eruditus! Ho! Ho! H…”> (Spoken in Huttese.)
Bortuga continued to laugh as his back fire exit door slid open revealing many stortroopers, an Imperial Officer and others, who appeared to be Force users. The Hutt looked at them, before continuing.
<“What is the meaning of this?”> (Spoken in Huttese.)
Before anyone else could speak up, the Imperial Officer addressed everyone else in the room.
“According to the Imperial edict as handed down by our Lord and Emperor, Darth Krayt… you are all in violation of section 24-3. Which states that with any seizure of Sith artifacts, be it by conventional or unconventional means, one must hand the property over to the proper authorities. And in being so, you will now hand over the holocron of Darth Eruditus, or face a swift and certain sentence.”
After that two stormtroopers chimed in with words of their own. Motioning with their weapons they added:
“Keep your hands where I can see them!” “And no sudden movements!”

Leth quickly began fabricating a lie that he could get the crew out of here with... with or with out the the holocron! He didn't have time to think about consequences... "I DO NOT BELIVE THIS!" Leth called out to the imperial officer as he pulled his weapon. "I have been working this case for too long for some hot shot to come in and try and take the credit for Bortuga's take down!Who is your commanding officer?" Before he could answer Leth began again, "You know what i don't even care! Let me guess, one of Bortuga's goons thought he would tip you guys off and make some big cred, Theel which one of these disloyal son of a bantha was is do you think?" That may have been a mistake... thought Leth to himself. Now, Udi didn't expect this. He thought maybe a small other faction might come in and try to steal the deal; not the Sith in full force.
And on top of it, the people they were dealing with were working for the Sith as well. He beamed his disapproval at Leth. It goes to show more administration that has the left hand not knowing what the right hand is doing.
Overall, this didn't look like it was going to be a good day. Still he had a chance to work this out so that at least it wouldn't have to end bad for Bortuga and his gang.
Better to save face and fight another day than to mess with an armed robber in an alley with both arms tied behind your back. The Sith could win today, but Bortuga could win in the end. Bortuga had his connections and ways of getting what he wanted, especially when so humiliated.
Besides, the holocron needed to be out of their hands before it could be used to it's full potential. The Sith were powerful enough, they didn't need another ace up their sleeves.
Udi raises his hands and looks to the officer, "You see, officer, we are not in possession of the holocron as of yet. These merchants, who we have now found out to be Sith officers, were trying to set us up."
"His rondure, Bortuga, was purchasing the holocron to get it out of the hands of people he thought were shady dealers. He was then going to hand it over, rightfully, to the Sith, in accordance with your code."
"We do not wish to have any trouble with the Sith and you may have the holocron as far as we are concerned, but as I said, it is not in our possession."
"It seems more as if your lower level officers have been holding out on you."
Better to make this an internal fight than one with them. Maybe they could slink out of the situation with a warning. Hopefully noone would do anything stupid. But he thought that may be out of the question.
He would have liked to just pick up the holocron and run for it, but his only clear path was through the establishment and Bortuga just rennovated the place. It seemed like that option was out of the question.
Still, there might be something that can be done. He'd just have to see how things would pan out.

The Imperial Officer smirked at the Bothan and the Pau'an's attempt to escape their justice. Knowing that his master would approach the individuals, he stepped aside and 'grabbed the wall' on the far side of the entrance. The stormtroopers responded immediately as well and entered the card room, with their weapons' poised. As the stormtroopers secured the area, Dath Erasmus made his way toward the table containing the holocron. With weapon still holstered he spoke to the Bothan. "So you wish to be an Imperial agent do you?" He motioned toward himself with a finger. "Then come here. Leth's mind froze. Normally he was all for protecting himself at all costs but all of the sudden he had a strange surge of imperial patriotism. Cautiously Leth moved towards the firgure waving him over, as if he was being reeled in. As he got to the front of the man Leth dropped to one knee.
"How sir can i prove my Value to you and fight for the glory of the wondrous Empire?" Leth could barely believe the words he was saying as they left his mouth.

Udileu was taken aback at first by the comment the Sith Lord made to Leth. But after second thought of things, it seemed clear to him that Leth was just trying to bluff the Sith Lord. But unlike himself, the Sith Lord didn't fall for it. Still, this insight changed the ballgame once again. It is always important who you can trust and who will stab you in the back at the first sign of trouble. Not that the Bothan had any reason to trust a Hutt and his entourage. But now knowing they weren't Sith, he felt a bit sorry for trying to throw them under the bus. Still, he didn't believe it was the smartest idea to do as Leth had done. Maybe he just had panicked. This was all just a side note in his mind as Udileu was in a predicament. Now it was up to him to determine the fate of the holocron. He felt his fate entwined, at least for the moment, with the holocron. He certainly didn't want it to fall into the hands of the Sith. He also wasn't sure if he gave it to them now that Bortuga would help retrieve it afterward; at least not in a timely manner in which the Sith wouldn't have obtained the secrets from it. He had many thoughts going through his head: Maybe I should take the holocron hostage... Maybe I should destroy the holocron... Maybe I should use the Force and fling the holocron deeper into cantina or to one of the patrons... Maybe I should trip and knock it off the table...It was just too bad that he couldn't just make it disappear. But he didn't have a strength in being able to hide things. Time was not on his side. Still, he thought he should consult the Living Force on if it would be a wise choice to do one of the options. He looked deep within himself and searched his feelings on wheter or not it would be wise to take the holocron hostage. --------- OOC: Full Round Action: Use the Force(Search Your Feelings) Roll: 20.12.2009, 17:39:34 1d20 + 9: 2 + 9 = 11 Use the Force: Search Your Feelings Udileu www.metstübchen.de/cgi-bin/DIESERVER/roll.pl?diestring=&comment=&code=Legacy&name=Udileu&showroll=show--------- The Force didn't have a conclusive answer for him today...

Images flashed in and out of Voluff’s head. He focused, trying to see into the future… but it was clouded. Possibly by the dark side. Unable to glimpse into what his actions might yield… Voluff stood in confusion, as Leth stepped forward and to the Dark Lord. As he knelt, Lord Erasmus spoke.
“Rise. Walk with me.”
With that he turned to walk away. As he passed by the Imperial Officer he spoke loud enough for the three to hear, but not the rest.
“Kill them. … All of them.”
With that he continued making his way, with Leth beside him. As the two made their way away the Sith Lord turned toward Leth.
“So you wish to be an Imperial Agent do you? Very well... I do have an opening. This raid is a diversion. I need you and a small group of others to take the holocron and leave this place.”
Could Leth believe his ears? Did the Sith just tell him to leave, with the holocron? How was this so?

Udi needed to act. The Sith weren't falling for any tricks; and the longer they were at their mercy, the less value they had to them.
Just because the Force couldn't guide him on his current course of action, didn't mean that it wouldn't help him through this situation.
Still, he wasn't sure how things were going to turn out, but he went with his gut and acted.
Alright, time to see how much this holocron is worth to the Sith, he thought to himself.
With that, he went to the table and picked up the holocron.

As soon as Voluff grabbed the holocron, Soggar kicked the table over and those sitting opened fire on the Imperials. Inching to escape, Bortuga and his most trusted bodyguard huddled toward the far corner. Noting Voluff’s shock, Soggar eyed the Pau'an between shots.
“They were going to kill us all as soon as you delivered the goods! Now take cover!”
As the shots rang out from the bar patrons six stormtroopers, caught off guard, were struck. Four feel dead to the ground hard. The other two reeled a bit and then fired back with the officer, while the other remaining trooper tossed a frag grenade into the room.
The grenade ricocheted off the roof landed atop the standing table nearby Voluff and exploded. The four men, still sitting, were soon riddled with shrapnel and fell to the ground in unrecognizable body parts. At the far side of the bar, the Klatooinian and the Kel Dor were struck with a shot each and dropped to the floor unresponsive.
The Imperial Officer fired at the Gamorrean thug, but shirked at a last minute blaster bolt and missed his target. Not to be left out the silent until now Theel raised his double-barreled blaster carbine and took a shoot at the injured stormtrooper, who doubled over and fell to the ground dead. He then took a clue from the others and turned his table over as well.
-Meanwhile-
Leth continued to move with Darth Erasmus. Noting the confusion in the man’s face the Dark Lord continued.
“You see… were I to secure the Sith holocron… I would then have to present it to Darth Krayt. However… if I never actually got a hold of it… then I wouldn’t have to turn it over… would I?”
With that said the Sith Lord laughed heartily.
“What I need from you is to gather a group, take the holocron… and run from us. The holcron can only be opened by those attuned to the Force. Although you aren’t Force sensitive… the Pau'an… is. What I need from you is to make sure that the holcron is accessed… and the information within, recorded. I also need you and your crew to explore the planets and sites within.”
He then turned toward the Bothan.
“I will hire you at 2,000 credits a week… and if you do this for me… the true Empire will be forever in your debt. Think about it… here is my private comlink number…”
He handed Leth the information.
“Keep in contact with me and insure that everything goes according to plan…”
He flashed the Bothan an intense look and then turned to leave.
“…Or else…”
