Or: Hella on EarthThis is my attempt to retool the Hella on Earth concept to actually draw some players. So, the concept is, at its core extremely simple: solo play with various kinds of supernatural protagonists set in and around the SF Bay Area that might eventually intertwine into team-up and/or group stories. I have access to all the Core rulebooks for everything in the New World of Darkness other than Geist, and I have many of the splatbooks for Vampire and Mage (and all the Changeling books, primarily because I think Changeling is 10 kinds of awesome.) The first thread would involve the events of your Embrace/Awakening or whatever (the events leading to you becoming aware of the situations in the World of Darkness.) Templates wouldn’t be randomly determined, so if you want to play as a Hunter, Vampire, Mage, Changeling, Promethean, or Werewolf, that’s fine; standard character creation applies. If you don’t have the books, I’d be happy to help where I can. Interested? Of course you are! PM me here (or on the MURPG boards is fine too) and we’ll talk!

I would be all over this if I had the time. Gorramnit. There otta be a law against starting up really awesome sounding games when I'm busy! I DEMAND JUSTICE.
Really, though, I'm busier than a one-armed bricklayer in Baghdad, and I'm still trying to manage posting in the games I'm already in. If eventually that changes, chances are a Hunter will suddenly magically appear in the game, but until then, please go on without me.
One note, though, I did sorta like the idea of the characters all having known each other in the past, then getting together to find out that they'd each been wrapped up in something supernatural. Seems unlikely, yeah, but that's sort of the point of telling a story: you tell something unusual. ^__^ But this works, too.

I'm just trying to find some note that people like for this. I've just got a storytelling itch for some dark horror.

Why does the Baghdad Bricklayer gotta be one-armed, huh? Sounds like you're prejudiced against handi-capable masons!
Uh, but seriously. I'm working on a guy for this. I'm torn between two concepts, though. One is a Religious nut who somehow found out about the supernatural and broadcasts one of those pirate radio shows that nutjobs sometimes have.
The other is an Iraq war veteran with PTSD who has become a vampire.

Quick question boss; which tier are we using? It affects which groups I can get involved with, etc.
Currently, I've worked the two concepts together. I'm thinking of a war vet who saw some things he wasn't supposed to see in Afghanistan. He was shipped home on a Section 8 (discharge for mental reasons). He went to the Church for help, and was recruited for The Long Night.
He's got the basic skills of a Hunter, but is actually more active as "support" for other members of The Long Night, providing pirate radio broadcasts to bolster their spirits, organize their efforts (in code), etc. He's also not entirely mentally "there", and isn't always clear on who the "monsters" really are.

I see no problem with first, second, or third-tier Hunters.

At the moment, I'm leaning toward Promethean, though I still need to review some of the other options, but for now I'm heading to bed.

Prometheans would be awesome, even if they're something of the red-headed stepchild of the nWoD. If you need help getting your hands on any of the materials, let me know. In the next few days I might start finding some supplementary Promethean materials if you're still interested.

I'd like to play, but once again, I'll need to be taught..... I'd be happy to help you out; it's really pretty intuitive and not too complicated. Read up a little bit on the settings (Wikipedia or TVTropes could be useful there, or the "World of Darkness wiki.")
