The GORPG board had one, so why not here? What are people interested in running? What would people want to play? Let's compare notes and see if games could grow out of that.
Stuff I'm (Tentatively) Interested in Running:
D&D 3.5 (Eberron): I'd especially love to play with the fatalistic noir aspects in Eberron. The heroes don't always win, and when they do their victories are always tempered with tragedy or failure. Something a bit darker than standard D&D, where the characters might be only a shade more noble than the villains they battle. Since I trust you guys to generally be pretty mature players, maybe explore some darker and more mature subject matter.
New World of Darkness: I recently acquired a few of the books for the setting (Changeling, Mage, Vampire, and Werewolf.) Still sifting through everything and getting a handle on the rules. I'm weighing the potential of trying to do a game where different types of characters might join forces to deal with their own problems in World of Darkness (or possibly a series of intertwined games, where the core group of friends would also be involved with their own motleys, cabals, packs, or...have to look up what vampire groups are called again. Covenants? Anyway, so maybe have everyone come up with a "main" character of one type. All the main characters would be interacting and perhaps linked by mutual friendships before being Embraced, abducted, Awakened, or whatever. They would have their own issues and interactions, while at the same time involved in the politics of their own respective parahuman subcultures and groups It's a rough idea and would require basically loads of character creation, essentially everyone would be coming up with a Mage, a Vampire, a Werewolf, and a Changeling.) I also could just run one of the above. My preferences (in terms of most interested to least) are Changeling, Mage, Vampire, and Werewolf.
Stuff I'm Interested in Playing:
D&D 4E: I'm 100% sure I'm not up to DMing a game, but I may be up to giving it a shot as a player.
New World of Darkness: As I mentioned above, I got the books just the other day and have started sorting through them. Order of preference is the same as what I want to run (Changeling, Mage, Vampire, Werewolf.)
D&D 3.5: Still love 3.5, Eberron is my favorite setting, but would be willing to play FR or a homebrew setting as well.
