"Her name is Kyrin Viltry." Katarn said. "I've never met her, but she's got a reputation for being well-traveled. Nar Shadaa may be smaller than most planets, but its still a tricky place to navigate, and bringing her along could seriously cut down on the amount of time you have to spend there.
"Remember, its Hutt territory, not Republic space. Nothing stopping any Bounty Hunters or worse, Imperials, from making a grab for you if they catch wind you're there."
Lando nodded. "Thats a threat to take very seriously. My aide-de-camp Lobot was captured on a business trip to Myrkyr a few months ago. I ended up paying quite a sum to get him back before they turned him over to the Empire."

Tala cracks her neck nervously. This is all so new to her. But nothing new to spend time with the lower strata of society, although she was always more comfortable in the pit with a hydrospanner than all of this courtly intrigue. "We'd best be leaving, then."

Hearing Master Skywalkers words and feeling Master Katarn’s, Darrius knew this mission would be more dangerous then he thought. Alone. He was truly alone. On his set before his first holovid premier Master Skywalker personally trained him for on screen combat with prop lightsabers. He had also taught him some of what remained of the ancient Jedi code and ways. All in order to more solidify his role as Luke Skywalker, the last of the great Jedi Masters. Now… this was more than business. This was life. And following the sting of Master Skywalker’s words Darrius knew he was truly alone in this endeavor.
“Very well then Master… if that is all… then we will be on our way. May the Force be with you.”

Little Duros...Tens of thousands of years ago, Little Duros had been an affluent neighborhood, including the Duros Embassy to the Galactic Republic. It had earned its name by being home to more Duros than humans. These days, humans were still outnumbered by aliens, but a wide variety of species could be found here, and duros were comparitively rare. As the city had grown vertically, the area had become considerably less prestigious. At this point, it would be complimentary to call the area a "slum." What passed for businesses here were primarily drinking establishments, along with a few weapons shops operating in clear violation of Republic Law. Here and there, pairs of Republic Security troops (a.k.a. the police) stood, clearly more interested in protecting themselves than stopping any potential crimes. The place they were told to seek their contact, The Red Cloak, had a droid standing out front dressed in the clothes of an Imperial Era Coruscant Guardsman promising customers the "best prices in liquor and lust" to be found anywhere. Nearer the door was a Wookie with scars covering much of its body that gave everyone coming and going a once-over, indicating that it was probably acting as security currently. **************************************************** Inside The Red Cloak, Kyrin found herself in a bit of a bind. She'd been gambling with a pair of Duros who had attempted to cheat her before she could cheat them. Unfortunately, they were not only cheaters, they were bent on proving the old maxim that there was no honor amongst thieves. Each of them had drawn a vibro-blade, and it seemed as if nobody else in here was interested in coming to the rescue of a lady in trouble...

'Gentlemen I am sure there has been some sort of ghastly mistake,' Kyrin Viltry said, all in a rush. 'And if you'll just settle down and finish your drinks I am sure we can work out an arrangement that will benefit all of us.' She beamed at them, smiling as widely as she could, fluttering her eyelashes, one hand straying perilously close to her blaster pistol, feet edging towards towards the door... ______________ (OOC: So, uh, 'Deception' Check? Darrius Vahn Draay was going to do something. He felt as if calling out with the Force would be the best course of action; however it seemed as if the contact knew what she was doing. If indeed weapons were swung. Darrius knew he could have them re-sheathe the vibroblades. =============================================================== Initiative: +6 UTF: +7 “Passive” Perception: 17 ( Perception: +7) Defenses: Ref 12 (flat-footed 11), Fort 13, Will 14 HP: 19 Threshold: 13 Actions: SA = MA = SwA = FA = Roll for Initiative, just in case things do get ugly. With a smile and a few simple words, Kyrin has gotten herself out of tighter jams than this one, with tougher crooks than these two. But greed rules the world of the criminal underground, and these two aren't really all that upset about the card game. They've got something else in mind.
"Sorry, kid... it ain't personal. But a pretty human like you? The Hutts will pay us big. Don't make us have to cut you up too much... scars is a niche market, harder to find a buyer..."
Slavery was illegal in The Republic, but that didn't mean that slave traders never operated within the borders.
One of the two Duros put away his knife, and was in the process of pulling out a small hand-stunner. The devices had no range, but were theoretically more powerful than most pistols set on stun. He looked like he was about to try to jab it into Kyrin, but a shot from Jam caused him to spin, snarling.
"Looks like she's got friends! Lets go for easier prey..." the one with the knife snarled. The other, holding the hand-stunner, scowled, but seemed to agree, and both began to back away, presumably toward some sort of back door that wasn't immediately obvious.
<OOC: Anyone with passive Perception 16 or greater can see that they're bluffing, there is no exit that way. But they do have a couple of nasty looking modified SoroSuub "Stormtrooper III" model blaster carbines stashed at a table nearby.>

Darrius readied himself, the second his bodyguard did. If these men were willing to pull arms inside of a public place they were more than willing to take a life. Looking about for the probe droid who was supposed to be catching the live footage, the actor moved in a way to get most of the on screen action. Rushing toward the scum Darrius spoke loud enough to draw attention.
“Villains beware! I, Luke Skywalker shall Dispatch you if you so wish!”

"Mesa tinkin' dis fight isn't fair," Jam calls out to the thugs. "Fight someone yousa own size!"
Noticing that their backing away is only a feint and seeing the weapons on the table, Jam makes a dash to the blasters. While he's not a fan of such weaponry, one in his hands is more useful than one in the hands of the enemy.

Kyrin successfully dashed toward the door, but found her way blocked by a particularly ugly specimen of wookie. She did notice, however, that he seemed to have his eye more on the general ruckus than on her specifically, so chances were he was nothing more than a bouncer, and wouldn't try to stop someone leaving peacefully.
Darrius shouted out his challenge, while Jam got the two Duros' weapons.
The Duros held up their hands. "Aw nuts, its Skywalker!" one of them muttered. "We'll go peacefully!"
<OOC: DK23 still has his actions for this round>

"...Wait, what just happened," Tala felt for her blaster, but the conflict was over before she had so much as blinked. She felt uncomfortable immediately with the young holovid star posing as Master Skywalker. But it did admittedly work.

'Well, I think I've more than outstayed my welcome,' Kyrin sighed. She moved for the door, smiling sweetly at the Wookiee bouncer. 'Excuse me, I'd like to leave now. Please?'
