After months of mounting pressure from my wife I was once again forced with a game related ultimatum. I was told yesterday that I had to: “Choose between being a husband and a father… or a gamer.” For those of you who have been around for a while this might still be a surprise but it is nothing new, as just over a year ago I had to make the same decision. For those of you who haven’t been around for a while, I’m saying goodbye!
From today forward, I must withdraw from all forum games (I play on this one and a couple other games on another) and my Monday night RPG session. It’s a very painful decision to make; but a wise one, at this point, from my perspective. If anyone wishes to continue running a game of mine, for if and when I do return, they are more than free to do so.
Although this might prove to be an indefinite end for my gaming… I will most likely still drop in here to respond or to even forum lurk when bored. What this means for my games… I would like for them all to be hidden after a week from today. This give people enough time to archive their character if they need to.
As far as the games that I am currently playing in, I don’t care what you do with my character. Kill them, suspend them or have them mysteriously disappear. It really doesn’t matter, as from henceforth I hand the character over to the GM to do whatever they wish to do, be it for game/storyline purposes or for convenience purposes.
