Kyrin fell silent. She was (only now) starting to realise that "because I thought it would be funny" was not a good enough reason to put her newfound friends' lives at risk. (Her own life... well, that was different.)
'Huh. Well. It seemed like a good idea at the time,' she shrugged, grinning nervously.

Darrius smiled at the Chadra-Fan…
“My dear friend… I am Jedi Master Luke Skywalker. And these are my traveling associates. And… who might you be?”
… As he made his way toward the man.

Tala had kept quiet, hand on her hip, during the encounter with Red Star, and it seemed, almost, like they had made it out ok. Between Darius' foppishness she began to appreciate Kyrin more and more. She at least seemed some modicum of sane, and her skills would likely remain useful here on a planet full of criminals. She also bristled at being referred to as a "traveling associate." But she let the others do the talking. For now, anyway.

Kyrin hurried up to Darrius, tugging his arm and saying (in a stage whisper loud enough for the Chadra-Fan to hear: 'No, Master Skywalker. This place is very dangerous for you. You need to stay undercover. We spent ages working out a cover identity for you- Darrius Vahn Draay, remember?' By now, Kyrin was quite aware that her companion was not the real Luke Skywalker. She was fairly sure that people in Nar Shaddaa would figure it out, sooner or later. What she was doing now was trying to muddy the waters; keep them guessing; was 'Darrius Vahn Draay' just a bad actor masquerading as Luke Skywalker, or was he really Luke Skywalker masquerading as a bad actor? A game of bluff and double bluff. She knew that the deception might be very important (and useful), later on; so, she had to add her own unique twist to make absolutely sure that no one could work it out until it was already too late. Yes, despite appearing scatty and whimsical, Kyrin possessed a razor-sharp intellect underneath all of that. Or did she...? ______________ Deception Roll: 21 ( 14+7) ______________ Initiative +8 Ref: 16 (flat-footed 13), Fort: 11, Will: 13 Passive Perception: 16 (Perception: 6)

The chaadra fan curled its lip upward in a sort of a smirk.
"Right. You're Luke Skywalker, and I'm Darth Vader. You guys really don't know where you are, do you?" It shook its head, squeaking thoughtfully in its own language.
"I feel sorry for you. Normally I don't care what happens to the hapless... shouldn't come here if you're not ready for it. But you guys seem like you might not have had a choice. When you realize you're in way over your heads," it pointed a finger at an inconspicuous building that advertised itself as a speeder garage, "you can find me there. My boss may be inclined to help you." With that, the alien glanced in all directions warily before hurrying off.

'Is your boss named Gill?' Kyrin asked, looking narrowly at the Chadra-Fan, remembering the information she'd gathered earlier. Maybe this was too much of a coincidence- 'Gill' was just one man amongst countless millions- but Tala had told her there were "no coincidences in the Force" so maybe she was right.
Anyway, if nothing else, it would be interesting to see if the name-dropping elicited any kind of reaction from the Chadra-Fan. If this 'Information Broker', Gill, had any kind of reputation...

The diminutive alien paused, turning its head back toward Kyrin slowly.
"Ah, no. I work for Shug Ninx, but Gill and he are associates... and the fact that you know that name means you might not be as hopeless as I thought." Another shrug of its tiny shoulders and it was off again.

"Wesa should follow him," Jam suggests. His client has always stunned him by being incredibly inept at the wrong moments, but this was probably the biggest misstep that he's made. Keeping quiet, not wanting to lose such a lucrative job, Jam sticks back with Tala and Kyrin. He addresses Kyrin as he sticks with the group.
"So, yousa have a story?"

'I've got plenty of stories,' Kyrin said, brightly. In a sing-song voice, she began: 'All good fantasy stories start with "a long time ago in a galaxy far away"... Oh, that's not what you had in mind? Well then, you'll have to be a little bit more specific.'
'What exactly do you want to know?' she said, dreading the questions that were to come.

Jam shrugged. His business had always been in people; he protected them, he represented them, and he, occasionally and with some regret, killed them. Because of this, he's always had some interest in what puts people where they are.
"Well," he continued. "Where yousa from? What yousa doin' in such mui dangerous places?" At the very least, Jam is hoping to assess how much of a danger this girl could be to Darrius. He's met enough scummy people in his life to know that a simple smile and a wink aren't always a good thing.

Kyrin desperately wanted to lie. She'd tell a joke, make everyone laugh, and then change the subject. It had always worked out well for her, in the past.
However, she knew that if she was going to be travelling with these people she would have to extend some trust sooner or later; she couldn't keep hiding things from them; they were nice people and they deserved the truth; at the very least, a gesture of her sincerity, a sign that she saw herself as something more than just another hired gun.
'Well...' A hint of bitterness had crept into her voice. 'My parents were- no, are- merchant traders plying the space lanes with their goods and services- I think they're fairly wealthy but maybe not powerful enough that you'd ever have heard of them- there are many people like that. Living ordinary, peaceful, law-abiding, prosperous lives...'
'And they doted on their darling little girl. They wanted her to have the best of everything- fine clothes, jewellery, an expensive education, a good husband... yes, nothing was too much for her,' Kyrin said, with unusual harshness in her voice, staring down at the floor as though it fascinated her. 'She was always coddled... protected... hidden away from the harsh realities of life in this galaxy. But... ah... there is always danger... the deceptive allure of the degenerate... and he found me.'
She was shaking. 'I think I've said enough,' she said, grimacing. Too much; she'd revealed far more than she'd ever intended. 'C'mon. We've got work to do here.'

"Right..." Jam felt a little uncomfortable. Clearly the girl was telling the truth; her body language seemed to indicate that she wasn't very comfortable doing so. This, to him, was a good sign. He'll still be keeping his eye on her, but he feels a little better about the situation. Jam then walked toward the building.
"Come, wesa goin' in now."

Kyrin nodded, gratefully.
She walked towards the building a little way behind Jam. There were things they needed to do in Nar Shaddaa before they did anything else; and this was as good a place to start as any.
The Chadra-Fan had seemed (more or less) friendly and helpful. He had offered them help; so it would be churlish for them to refuse without at least finding out a little bit more about his "master" and what he wanted.

Shug Ninx was working on a TIE-fighter; one of two dozen strapped to the roof of his repair shop, when the group entered. He wiped grease from his hands as he climbed down a scaffolding. It appeared that Shug Ninx was a human, though he appeared to have strange growths on his lower face and upper arms. He appraised them with the eyes of someone who had spent a lifetime living in suspicion.

'Heya!' Kyrin said, with a cheeky grin. 'You Shug Ninx? Pleased to meetcha.' The people of Nar Shaddaa were (sensibly) distrustful of strangers. He was looking at her with suspicion. She might not be able to win his friendship right away, but she could at least strike up a working relationship: Shug Ninx had things they would need; he might be a useful contact. All of a sudden, she was smart and business-like. It was quite a change. She'd cast aside her façade of obfuscating stupidity, at least for now: 'I am Kyrin. These are my friends. We need a place to hide out for a while. One of your employees told us that you might be able to help. Is that true?' 'Do us a favour and... well, I'm sure we can do something for you, hmm?' She smiled, winsomely. 'Well, what do you think? Can we do business?' ______________ (OOC: I figure there are several things we need that Shug Ninx might have: * Information (There is a lot we don't know) * Transportation (an Airspeeder, maybe?) * A base of operations within Nar Shaddaa * Etc...
