Tala keeps an eye open for danger. Although she agrees with Kyrin's plan, she wonders just what the Living Force has in store for them here. She tries to keep the nagging fear in check (for fear, she knew, lead to the Dark Side.) She was wary about walking into the crimelord's lair, but she retained her focus. If things went bad, she'd be ready. She just wished she was dealing with hyperdrives and spanners, not with this hive of scum and vlllainy.

Jam sits back, arms crossed, and listens closely to Shug Ninx as he spoke, weighing the man up. Knowing what these types are capable of, Jam braces himself in case negotiations go awry. ------- Initiative +8 Passive Perception 17 Defenses Ref 18, Fort 19, Will 13 HP 31 Threshold 24 Actions: Standard Action: Observe Shug Ninx to see if he's being shifty at all (Perception Roll: 22) Minor Action: N/A Swift Action: N/A Free Action: Roll Initiative ( 13) OOC: It's not so much that I keep rolling Initiative early to make him seem aggressive, but because he's making sure he's ready to do his Bodyguard thing! So it's not like he's gripping his AtlAtl and smacking it against the other hand, he's just prepping himself.

Shug looked the small group over. Any suspicion he felt was clearly overridden by his business sense; on Nar Shadaa, the first to get to a customer was probably the only one to get to a new customer.
"If you've got credits or something I can use in exchange, then yeah, I can hide you while you're here, and provide you with whatever else you need. Of course, I can get out off this rock a lot faster if I know what you're looking for."

"Well, just keep an eye open for anything out of the ordinary," Tala speaks up, "We'll keep out of your way, don't worry." She wanted to consult the holocron later to see what information it had about Force Sensitives on Nar Shadaa.

'We don't need anything right now except a place to lie low for a while,' Kyrin said, quickly. 'I have a small amount of money. Shall we talk price?' She wasn't quite sure how they would track down any Force Sensitives who happened to be here on Nar Shaddaa. Her "friends" might have some ideas; she resolved to discuss it with them as soon as they could be sure they would not be overheard. Until then she was hesitant to commit to anything. 'Actually... perhaps there is something you can do for me,' she purred. 'I'm afraid I don't know as much as I'd like to know about Nar Shaddaa. Can you help me?' Maybe Shug Ninx would be able to tell her things that she had been unable to find out before. Or maybe not. She'd just have to wait and see. ______________ I rolled for Gather Information: 5(+7) = 12 (I'm fairly sure that's not how Gather Information is supposed to work but I'd already rolled for it by the time I realised that, so...) ______________ Initiative +8 Ref: 16 (flat-footed 13), Fort: 11, Will: 13 Passive Perception: 16 (Perception: 6)

Shug Ninx gestured for them to follow him deeper into the complex. He passed through the large hangar and into a smaller room with several humans and aliens playing at an unfamiliar gambling game. The hallway that followed that room was lined with closed doors, the first of which Shug entered. This was obviously his office, or one of them. It held several amenities, including a small holonet projector which, at the moment was silently displaying images of a half-nude zeltron woman.
"Nobody knows as much about Nar Shadaa as they'd like. I'm going to cut through some of the dead air here, to save myself time. I can tell by looking at you, you all don't have the kind of money it takes to get good information around here. Luckily, I have a favor I need taken care of. I'll give you all the information I have on... whatever it is you're looking for, as well as a safe place to sleep, if you just handle this one little matter for me, first."

It held several amenities, including a small holonet projector which, at the moment was silently displaying images of a half-nude zeltron woman. 'Nice decor!' Kyrin said, cheerfully. Only a very careful listener would have been able to detect traces of sarcasm in her voice. She was good at that. 'Tell me more. It sounds very interesting,' Kyrin said, coyly. She was keen to find out more about this "little matter" that Shug Ninx wanted them to deal with before she committed to anything. Perhaps this offer came with too high a price. 'Of course, I'll have to discuss this with my friends, but I do hope we can come to some kind of arrangement,' she said, arching her eyebrows. 'What do you want us to do?' ______________ Initiative +8 Ref: 16 (flat-footed 13), Fort: 11, Will: 13 Passive Perception: 16 (Perception: 6)

"It's really nothing... I just don't have any people to send right now. A few levels down there's a sector known as The Enclave. Its the closest thing to High Class you'll ever find in Nar Shadaa. A bunch of highbrow types with enough resources to protect what they got. I made a deal with one of 'em, a funny lookin' fella with blue skin. His name, he says, is Reth'traw-rundo, and who could make somethin' like that up?" Shug chuckled.
"He's sitting on an experimental military hyperdrive... faster than anything ever seen, he says. Its already paid for. You just need to bring it back here."

'I made a deal with one of 'em, a funny lookin' fella with blue skin. His name, he says, is Reth'traw-rundo, and who could make somethin' like that up?" Shug chuckled. 'Like a Wroonian, you mean? Or a Pantoran?' Kyrin frowned. That name (Reth-something?) was unlike any she'd heard of before. But, on the other hand, she couldn't claim to know of every species in the galaxy or to be an expert on the naming traditions within their many and varied cultures, so she paid it no mind. It wasn't important. Hmm... Well, if any of that was true, Shug Ninx had a vested interest in making sure his property was delivered to him safely, so he probably wouldn't have asked the newcomers to fetch and carry for him if he thought there was going to be much trouble. It was likely that Shug Ninx wasn't telling them everything about this mission; probably there were a few fine details he hadn't thought worth the trouble of mentioning to them; but Kyrin was confident that she and the others could handle any problems that came up. Besides, Shug Ninx had no reason to wish any of them harm (that she knew of), and it seemed like he wanted to help them, so maybe this errand was legit? Only one thing bothered her: why would Shug Ninx send a group of people he'd never met before to collect a valuable piece of equipment like that? Why would he trust them like that? It was suspicious... She threw up her hands and looked to the others with a clueless smirk. Who was in charge, here? Darrius, maybe? Or was it Tala? 'What do you think, guys?' she asked. 'Shall we go for it?' ______________ Reaction: I'm going to roll a Perception Check to try and Sense Deception (see if Shug Ninx is deceiving us at all): 1d20+5= 7 Oh, well... I think that's my worst roll yet. ______________ Initiative +8 Ref: 16 (flat-footed 13), Fort: 11, Will: 13 Passive Perception: 16 (Perception: 6)

"Things are rarely that easy," Tala notes, "Especially here. But I imagine bringing it back here and avoiding having it stolen would be a challenge in and of itself. I say we go for it."

((LOL Yep... unlikely as it seems, Kyrin seems to think that Shug is telling the whole truth. Or at least, not withholding anything of any real importance))

Kyrin nodded. She'd come to pretty much the same conclusions. 'What do you think, Jam?' she asked the Gungan. 'Oh, and Darrius? Do you have anything to say?' The actor had been unusually quiet, recently. She'd almost forgotten he was there.

Darrius seemed to be in a huff; perhaps upset that his Force-manipulations hadn't worked as well as he'd hoped. He simply shrugged in response to her question.
