I've never heard of it, but the Wiki makes it sound interesting! Something like that would definitely be along the lines of what I'd want to run, but with a more comedic edge, I would say. And, still, it would start out for a level or so without any real supernatural stuff happening. I hate rushing into campaign elements and really want normalcy ingrained before adding anything weird.

Debating on fast or Smart hero

Okay, so here's a basic outline concept of my character. He's a celebrity novelist (had several movies based on his work, one of the rare few writers that the public actually knows by face and not just by name, etc). Because he does deep research for his writings, he has a wide variety of... interesting talents one might not normally expect in a professional writer.
Build-wise, I'm starting with Charismatic Hero, possibly dipping for 1 or 2 levels into Fast Hero. As soon as possible, I'm going to pick up the Advanced Classes "Gunslinger" and "Personality" and divide evenly between them. Basically, I want the character to be more focused on his charismatic side, but also be unexpectedly deadly if need be (though obviously not as deadly as someone dedicated to kicking butt).
Side Note: If the GM is amicable and if anyone is interested, this is the kind of guy who could use a PC ally/friend... a bodyguard, or a personal agent, or just one of the many... "different" characters he's met in his time researching his work.

I'm thinking of a Smart Hero/Dedicated Hero, a recently ordained priest with a passion for social justice. As for advanced class, maybe Negotiator or Investigator, depending on what direction he moves.

Okay, so I'm kind of interested in having everyone roll their stats instead of point buy, so go ahead and do 4d6, drop the lowest, and PM me the results. If they're too ridiculously spread out (someone with all 18's and someone with all 12's, for example), then we'll just point buy, but I'm kind of interested to see how this plays out!
If you're totally opposed to rolling, though, let me know. I don't usually do the rolling thing, but I thought it would be fun to try.

I changed my mind, just go 35 point buy.
Make sure to create allegiances as per the core rulebook and pick a profession!

www.myth-weavers.com/sheetview.php?sheetid=167670Not counting equipment, this is my character. He's based off of Nathan Fillion's character from "Castle" in a big way, so I'm giving credit where its due and using Nathan's picture for the character. I'll write a longer version (probably), but the short bio is this; Peter Bouchard was born and raised in The Bronx. He belonged to a street gang and spent time in juvenile detention center. When he turned 18, his parole officer offered him an opportunity for a better life. Peter went to live with the man and his family. After a year in community college, he was given a scholarship to study at Oxford University, where he spent the next two years of his life. He returned home a changed man. Already published several times over in literary journals, Peter set out to publish his own novels under his pen name, Tristan Priest. His workrate as a writer has been prolific, often churning out two or more novels in a year. He is the author of multiple successful series', including the supernatural-themed "Blood of Truth" novels, a series of historical fiction novels, and his most recent endeavors; a series of horror novels in which he is constructing his own mythos (similar to the Cthulhu mythos of H.P. Lovecraft or the mythos of Stephen Kings writings). Between books, he also writes articles for various outlets on a variety of popular subjects. The secret to his success has always been immersion; if he is writing a book about detectives, he socializes with police detectives. If he is writing a book about the mafia, he ingratiates himself with a group of wise guys. His ability to be comfortable with all sorts of people has served him very well.

I'm a bit confused by that. (Yes, I did read it, I swear).
Its almost like they wanted to make Alignment even more vague and confusing than it already was.
Basically, its a list of concepts to which your character is loyal, right? So if my character were Roman Catholic (he's not, but just for an example), and particularly devout, that would be an Allegiance?

Right! See, I like it because it takes alignment and makes it less confusing, in my eyes. You pick three things that your character is particularly attached to (chaos, law, good, evil, conservative, religion, self, honor, anything really) and you rank them in importance. If you're very liberal, but ultimately are looking out for yourself, then you would rank self above liberal.

Bare bones of a sheet (also sans equipment) submitted for my priest character: Father Abraham Benjamin "Ben" Carpenter, Smart Hero 1. If he is, that gives our characters a link right there! He could be a parishioner of Father Carpenter's church.
