Yeah, after I posted I went and looked it up since I'm bored this morning.
The Battle Wheel thing is interesting. I'm not sure I like it. But its interesting. If I'm not mistaken, they use the same thing for Exalted.

The "tick"-style systems work really well in person, but they're awkward for GMs over boards. Hopefully it'll work out, though. The battle wheel app will help a ton I'm sure.

TWF- I hate you. I hate you so much for making a character almost exactly the same as mine. Lets see..
-Chinese last name- check -4 in all physical stats - check -emphasis on physical epic attributes- check -max brawling - check -fingerless gloves that give bonus damage, lower speed and one purview- check, damnit
Suddenly, I dont want to play anymore, becouse I hate not being unique. Do me a favor and at least feel guilty about this.

Danny's last name (Lee) is English/American, from the root Leigh, if that makes you feel any better. lol
I hate overlap too. Seems we have pretty much opposite personalities, though?
I'm surprised you aren't focused in Melee, using a bo. The bo's stats are killer in Scion (+2 accuracy, +2 defense, hello!) and Sun Wukong is famously depicted as having a staff. I had been thinking about making a staff-weilding Sun Wukong character, actually. Obviously we think a lot alike!
From what I gather, we'll start to look less and less alike as we progress. Its hard to be unique as a Hero, but we get a ton of new points to work with if/when we hit Legend 5.

Bo wielding scion of Sun Wukong... I dunno. I wanted him to not be a carbon copy of Tommy Lee from the books. Im currently making another character, but in worst case, I wont play at all.

Do me a favor and at least feel guilty about this. Just so you know, Playah Lee is a very common English surname, unrelated to the family name Li/Lee. I'm sorry that TWF came up with a similar concept to you, I wouldn't have known as much since I didn't hear anything from you until now. If you really don't want to play, let me know ASAP and I'll plan accordingly. If you're still interested, I think there's ways to make this work. I'm going to PM you with an idea. If you like it, we'll run with it. And don't worry, TWF, I didn't know there was any level of overlap until now. There's no way anyone could have. ~DK

I do have other concepts, if it comes to that.

Is it just me, or does having two martial arts guys with very different personalities seem like it could be fun?
I know its a bummer having the same abilities as another player, but its not necessarily a game killer. It can set up all kinds of fun situations.

It could be a lot of fun, but if they're not interested in their abilities overlapping, that's it. I just PM-ed Playah with an idea. I'm going to throw together a sheet right now for him too.

I'm okay with a certain amount of overlap. I did like the idea of us having opposite personalities. Playah mentioned being the kind of guy who just does whatever he thinks is right - screw the "plan" - while Danny follows orders to the letter, even if it means sacrificing his life for the team.
The gloves are definitely pushing it, though. I'd be happy to change my relic if necessary. EDIT: We really need some lethal damage in the group. Someone should focus on melee.

I'm perfectly happy getting my lethal damage from guns, thank you.

Given he's former special forces... probably a 1911 .45, but he's more likely to carry a .9mm for practicalities sake (9mm being the most common ammo in the world). If he goes beyond pistols? Mossberg semi-auto shotgun, H&K MP5 (or better yet, any later iteration of the same line), and AK47 <Edit> Oh, and if by "choice" you meant what does he currently own/carry, then the answer is nothing. Jack currently believes that the life of violence is behind him forever.

I suspect that the game will go thusly:
"My life of violence is behind me forever." *knock knock* "My goodness, who could that be? Hello? Who's there?" "Its me, your life of violence!" "Well crud." "Long time no see, buddy! Hey, you've gained weight." "Oh shut up."
