Hey, DK... could my Guide get me a gun, or is Jack going to have to go out and mug a drug dealer to get one thats not registered to his name? LOL

I'm working on a backup character from the Loa pantheon (same "niche" as my current character... social guy, but more focused on support as a backup than combat)

Yeah, one of the things I've learned as a veteran White Wolf player (though frankly, this system bears almost no resemblance to the system I'm used to) is to have a backup character or two ready to go in case you get offed.
I lost 3 characters in one session of Werewolf. Gosh I miss that game...

But this is Scion, we're supposed to be good at surviving, while Werewolf... well, not.

LOL I am not particular about the details there. As for backup characters, it really shouldn't be an issue. But it'll at least be something to keep in mind, I guess.

But this is Scion, we're supposed to be good at surviving, while Werewolf... well, not. You've got that one backwards. Werewolves are supposed to be very good at surviving. You don't serve Gaia by dying, you serve her by making the other guy die

The problem with that is that the other guy serves by making you die, too. ^__^
But that sounds a bit like our own situation.
EDIT: Still can't wait to see these other sheets.

Thats everyone in a war's situation.
Just one more reason that the vast majority of people are opposed to war on general principal.

I never really got into Werewolf. Can't really say why, though I guess the themes of mysticism and the violence didn't do it for me. I do recall having friends who also reported having their characters drop like flies. And the only time a vamp game I was in had a TPK was when we stupidly attacked a werewolf in his own cabin (we didn't know he had friends).

Heh. Well, generally speaking, one werewolf can rip apart an entire group of vampires without trouble... but the real problem with Werewolves is that they tend to travel in Packs Obviously, I'm a huge fan of Werewolf. For me, the setting really captured a lot of the things that make fantasy gaming fun, and distilled them into a modern setting in a way that most attempts to creating "modern fantasy" fall flat on their face with. Plus, I like the fact that werewolves tend to resolve everything with violence (or threats of violence). It reflects their bestial nature.

I'm definitely more of a Vampire guy. I dig the social maneuvering and backstabbing. Perhaps thats why I've always gravitated towards the Glasswalkers.
I do agree with you about blending fantasy with a modern setting (Scion has that in spades, and that's what I dig about it). I remember reading the chapter at the back of the Hunter book that contained descriptions of all the monsters of the WoD, as seen through a journal entry or first-hand account of some other hunter. The Shapeshifter entry involved a hunter's journal entry about watching from a safe distance as a hulking beast in crinos literally tore a construction site to pieces one night - then it sat down for a rest and drank an entire six pack. Its ears perked up and it ran away - only later did the hunter hear the sirens approaching. I thought that was so cool.
